The Stanford Women's Leadership Conference is committed to inspiring and building the next generation of women leaders, and to innovating ideas through which the women’s movement can be reinvigorated to be relevant to the needs and challenges as presented by the future. We hope to engage current and future leaders in conversations about the origins of, and ideas behind, women's leadership, in order to make a determination of where it is headed, and how to intelligently shape the form it takes in the next generation. In cognizance of this purpose, we have invited a group of accomplished leaders who can speak to the rich history of women's leadership and achievement in areas as diverse as education, business, technology, social justice, and politics. Each of these women has been a change maker in her own field, and is characterized by her ability to pave way for both, new models of leadership, and revolutionary solutions to old problems.
We hope that the conference, through exposing us to the diversity in these women’s leadership styles, as well as their successful ability to reconceptualize long-standing world problems, can provide a road-map for such leadership in the present and future. Furthermore, it is our hope that each attendee of this conference will—through sharing in the incredible stories of these women, and learning from their mentorship—have equipped herself with the inspiration to innovate, and feel empowered as a catalyst of change in “the next generation.”
